Liverpool FC are keen to add at least one of two players who currently ply their trade with Bundesliga Champions Borussia Dortmund.
Both 23 year old hitman Robert Lewandowski and 22 year old midfielder Shinji Kagawa are rumoured to be high on the Liverpool management’s wishlist but it is expected that the Anfield side will only be able to land one of them.
With both being of a good young age the signing of either would bode well for the future of Liverpool. Kagawa has been linked with numerous clubs over the last twelve months but it is likely that he will want more Champions League football next season having had a taste with Dortmund this season already – his value has also been reported to be anything from £12m to £20m.
Lewandowksi though would be much more reasonably priced and the Poland international is likely to be watched closely during the 2012 European Championships. The former Lech Poznan striker has an interesting strike rate at international level scoring 13 goals in 39 internationals.
Although the Polish striker does not appear to be a typical Liverpool player, his potential and goal scoring has led many to make comparisons with Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and he could be available to Liverpool for around £8m.
