Liverpool keen on cut-price deal for Manchester City poacher

Liverpool are keeping tabs on former striker, Craig Bellamy, and will sign the Manchester City veteran – but only if he comes on a free transfer.

KennyDalglish has spent more than £55m on his new-look attack in the past year, but is looking for an experienced head to reinforce his youthful strike partnership.

Bellamy spent a year at Anfield in the 2006-07 season, scoring seven goals in the process.

The striker has fallen out of favour at the Etihad Stadium under the management of Roberto Mancini, and is expected to move away along with Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor who just secured a loan deal to Tottenham.

Bellamy is currently on wages of £95,000-a-week and the 32 –year old is expected to take a slight pay cut in any move away from City.

Sunderland, Celtic and hometown club, Cardiff City, have also expressed an interest in signing the hitman, however wages are yet again thought to be proving an obstacle.
