Liverpool are keen to land Inter Milan’s Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho and could sanction a move for the player who has found this season tough going at the San Siro.
The attack minded midfielder arrived from Vasco de Gama last year having originally signed up in 2008 but remained on loan. The €4m deal appeared to be good business at the time however since last season things do not appear to have gone to plan and the Serie A side are ready to listen to offers despite chairman Massimo Moratti claiming Coutinho was the future of the club.
Should Liverpool be serious with regards to a bid than they can expect to pay up to £8m for the youngster who would fit into the Anfield clubs policy well of young emerging talent however with a side already bristling with talent, Coutinho may find it a simple case of repetition as he would certainly find it hard going getting into Kenny Dalglish’s side with immediate effect.
The learning process does dictate though that he would get a chance at Liverpool should they cough up enough money to lane the Brazilian international as the red side of the Mersey continue to look for a playmaker who can eventually takeover the duties of Steven Gerrard.
