Liverpool make formal enquiry for Bundesliga superstar

Gotze is one player who will be in the transfer news for months to comeIt’s understood that Liverpool have made a formal inquiry into the availability of Bundesliga playmaker, Mario Gotze.

Gotze has been linked with countless European clubs for the past year but nothing has materialized as of yet.

The 19 year-old broke on to the scene 18 months ago, as he made a name for himself as a passer of the highest quality and earning a Germany call up as a result.

Last season was the midfielder’s best as he became an integral part of the Borussia Dortmund team that won the club’s first Bundesliga title in nine years.

The youngster has started the 2011-12 campaign on the same note too, scoring one and assisting twice in the 3-1 season opening win over Hamburg.

German newspaper, Bild, have reported that Liverpool are prepared to make a move in the coming transfer windows before any other club pounces on his signature.

The Black and Yellows manager, Jurgen Klopp, has stamped a ‘not for sale’ sign on his talisman, but Kenny Dalglish could be ready to test the water with a bid.

The valuation of Gotze has varied over recent months, but given his consistent form, the sum is thought to be around £30m.
