Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has admitted he is worried about Uruguay’s packed schedule which could lead to a possible burn out for striker Luis Suarez.
The £22.8million signing from Ajax in January has spent his previous “summer breaks” with his national side, playing in the World Cup and Copa America, causing Dalglish some concern. Despite his hectic schedule, Suarez has returned to Liverpool in great form scoring three goals in three games, after winning the Copa America and player of the tournament award just over a month ago.
The 24-year-old is expected to be in Liverpool’s home fixture against Bolton on Saturday but will then team up with Uruguay for their friendly fixture in Ukraine on Friday before they return to competitive action in November.
Dalglish understands that although Suarez has just played in the Copa America, he will still be eager to join up with Uruguay; however he has hinted that the player may need to think about his fatigue.
“We will just manage the situation,” said Dalglish. “We don’t know what is going to be thrown up for Luis. We have an idea what the fixtures are for Uruguay but we don’t know definitively.
