Liverpool may gazump Arsenal for international defender using Poulsen
Liverpool are considering using current defensive midfielder Christian Poulsen as a bargaining chip in bringing highly rated and Arsenal target Mathias Jørgensen to Anfield this summer.
Whilst recent reports state that Poulsen’s agent has denied the player will be leaving Liverpool FC this summer, the management are keen on 21 year old Jørgensen believing him to be a perfect up and coming defender. His club, FC Kopenhagen have already noticed interest from abroad and will only allow him to leave should the right offer be made.
Should Liverpool beat Arsenal by offering Poulsen plus cash for the Danish defender then Wenger is likely to be livid at having lost out on such a promising young player. For Liverpool fans there would perhaps be a sigh of relief should Poulsen depart who showed little improvement even after Kenny Dalglish’s arrival.
