Wigan manager Roberto Martinez claims Liverpool have left their efforts to sign striker Hugo Rodallega to late, even though the Colombian’s contract expires at the end of this season, according to the Daily Mirror.
Rodallega has refused to extend his contract with the Latics and talks over an extension have now broken down, however Martinez has revealed they will not consider a deal to let the forward leave.
“We would not consider anything,” Martinez said.. “You can’t replace players at this stage of the season.
“If a player is moving for big money they have to go earlier in the summer.”
“We would not be in a position to replace him now. It is not possible.”
Kenny Dalglish had been linked with a last-minute raid who they have reportedly been tracking all summer. Liverpool have been extremely active this transfer window but Dalglish does not look like he is ready to finish just yet.
