Liverpool monitoring Birmingham’s financial situation before making move

Liverpool are considering Birmingham City's financial situation before making an offerLiverpool are keeping a very close eye on the financial situation at Birmingham City at the moment and will decide in the next week whether to make a tempting offer to the midlands club for defender Scott Dann.

The 24 year old has been a reported target of both Liverpool and Arsenal however the North London club do seem much more interested in Everton’s Phil Jagielka. Birmingham City’s owner, Carston Yeung has recently had his assets seized and there is talk that Birmingham could struggle in the transfer market and the Championship unless they sell players soon to re-build the squad.

That could mean a cut price deal for the Liverpool target who were at first told it would cost at least £12m to take him to Anfield. Liverpool did make enquiries regarding an offer around £9m though this was quickly rebuffed by Chris Hughton’s side although now their circumstances have changed, a figure nearer Liverpool’s valuation seems much more likely.
