Liverpool New Boy Out to Prove Point

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has admitted that although he was satisfied with his performance in the Carling Cup against Exeter City on Wednesday, he feels he has still got more to offer in a Liverpool jersey.

The 21-year-old moved to Anfield this summer from Sunderland in a deal worth around £20million and has started each of Liverpool’s games in the new campaign. He impressed in a wide right position in their 3-1 victory at St James Park and he believes it was his best performance for them so far.

Despite his good performance, Henderson knows that he must continue to fight and work hard to retain his place in Kenny Dalglish’s starting line-up.

“I’m sort of pleased with my performance against Exeter,” said the midfielder. “I feel as though I’ve still got more to give, but I thought I worked hard and I felt fitter and hopefully I can keep getting better.
“I just want to play football, and I will play anywhere.”
