Joe Cole looks set to put pen to paper once more next year, after news emerged that the midfielder is looking to make his move to Lille a permanent one.
Cole joined the French side on the summer transfer deadline day almost two months ago, and is enjoying some good form with the current Ligue 1 champions.
After joining in 2010, the former Chelsea attacker had a dismal spell at Anfield, being limited to just 20 appearances in his Liverpool career and he doesn’t seem confident of adding to that tally.
The Liverpool move has also proved disappointing on an international scale, with the wide man no longer featuring in the plans of England manager Fabio Capello.
That could turn around soon however, with Cole stating recently that he fancies his chances of making it back on to the England squad after being handed more first team football at the Stade Lille-Metropole.
The 29 year-old faces stiff competition from the likes of Ashley Young, James Milner and Theo Walcott when it comes to returning to the England side. However, with the exciting dribbles and assists the winger is displaying at Lille, an outside bet wouldn’t be a harsh one.
