Liverpool are prepared to offer Aquilani a fresh slate should he return back to Anfield after spending the season on loan at Juventus.
The Serie A side decided against making his move permanent and there are currently no offers from either AC Milan or Inter Milan who are known to be interested in the 26 year old midfielder. However in an unusual turn of events, Dalglish’s Liverpool are ready to allow him back to the club to give him the chance he never really had when he first arrived at Anfield.
The news also comes after it emerged that Maxi Rodriguez could be making his way back to Argentina and the possible sale of Raul Meireles after just one year at the club. Liverpool are currently focusing their efforts on the acquisition of Blackpool’s Charlie Adam and an announcement regarding his signature is expected soon.
With two players in that area leaving there will be room for Aquilani even though the purchases of Adam and Henderson will offer the Italian stiff competition. There is also a general feeling that he would prefer to stay in Italy with family now settled there which will not work in his favour.
Should Liverpool not receive any favourable offers for the midfielder then it appears the club a re quite happy and willing to allow Aquilani to return and fight for his place in the starting line up, something he could not do under Hodgson and due to injuries.
