Liverpool see Birmingham centre-back as defensive solution

Scott Dann looks increasingly likely to join Liverpool FCLiverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, is ready to make his move for Birmingham defender, Scott Dann, after the Reds’ had a lacklustre pre-season in defence.

The Merseyside outfit leaked in 15 goals in six pre-season friendlies, a record he will need to improve if Liverpool are to challenge for a European spot.

Glen Johnson and Martin Skrtel were recently injured in pre-season and it’s thought that Dann would cost around £8m.

Born in Liverpool, the centre-back may favour a move to Liverpool as he looks to return to the top flight of English football.

Dalglish was expected to sign the 24 year-old earlier this summer, however the Scot decided to focus more on his midfield, signing Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing.
