Liverpool seeking to bolster midfield with Bundesliga maestro

Reports are suggesting that Liverpool could be ready to dip into their pockets for another midfielder in January by submitting a bid for Werder Bremen talent, Marko Marin.

The attacker has drawn praise in recent seasons for his creative skills and despite not having the most prolific scoring record, makes things a lot easier for the players ahead of him.

The media were in full swing over the summer regarding the possible sale of the playmaker, however Werder Bremen claim that there was no contact over the transfer window about any kind of deal.

The 22 year-old has earned 16 caps for the German international side since making his debut in 2008, and played a part in the 2010 World Cup squad.

The Borussia Monchengladbach and Frankfurt product has made over 130 appearances in the German top flight, and could be a valuable asset due to the low amount of speculation.

Marin has showed his potential for great play and is a pretty consistent performer in his native Germany.

On top of that, the winger could be snapped up for as little as £12m presenting a financially safe option for the Merseysiders.

As a result, Liverpool would be expected to offload some fringe players before making any more big money moves this year, with Maxi, Dirk Kuyt, Jay Spearing, Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani potentially all on the chopping block.
