Liverpool will be looking to book a date with Wembley for the second time this season when they host Stoke City in a fascinating FA Cup quarter-final tie at Anfield, with punters likely to be backing Steven Gerrard at 5/1 to score first with Paddy Power, after the captain hit a hattrick midweek against Everton.
Having already won the Carling Cup this season, Kenny Dalglish’s men will have big ambitions for more silverware and with the semi-finals of this competition taking place at Wembley, there is plenty of motivation to progress.
Liverpool will be boosted by their return to form in the league too. After a run of three successive Premier League defeats, they secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby during the week.

Following this win, captain Steven Gerrard – who scored all three goals against David Moyes’ men – has demanded that his team show consistency between now and the end of the season. If they do, they could end up with two domestic cups and a top six finish.
Stoke City will be a tough challenge for Liverpool though. Tony Pulis’ men have played a lot of games this year, but they will still be confident of progressing to the final four of the FA Cup.
With their league form on the up – they have won two of their last three after a run of four successive defeats – they can fully focus on the FA Cup without any relegation fears distracting them.
They will take heart from the 0-0 draw that achieved at Anfield back in January too, a result they will be more than happy with on Sunday afternoon.
As they have done in the last few years, Stoke will look to offer a significant aerial threat to their hosts who they hope will be suffering a hangover from the win over their local rivals.
Looking at the team news for this one, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are both out for Liverpool, while Stoke will be without the suspended Ricardo Fuller.
This one gets underway at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
