Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt insists Suarez will get better

Liverpool forward and Dutch international, Dirk Kuyt, has professed how delighted he is with the form of teammate, Luis Suarez, but is confident the star will get better.

The Uruguayan arrived at Anfield from Ajax in January for a fee of around £23m and has been a busy player during his brief period with the Reds.

Suarez made a big name for himself in Holland, earning the incredible ratio of 81 goals in 101 appearances for Ajax, leading to huge European interest before he decided to sign for the Merseysiders.

The 24 year-old hasn’t stopped scoring however, and has adjusted to life in the Premier League quickly by bagging seven goals in only 19 games at the club, including a brace in his first game against Manchester United in March.

Kuyt himself made the switch from the Eredivisie to the Premier League in 2006 when he completed a move from Feyenoord, and knows all about the change of pace.

The 31 year-old said: “What people seem to forget about Luis is that it really is a very big step to come from the Eredivisie.”

The striker added: “He has done brilliantly and he has become a very important player. But he will be even better in the future and he has time to get used to the Premier League.
