Rodgers’ main aim for this match will be to make sure none of his players are injured ahead of the new campaign, but he also knows just how important fitness is and that his squad all need some time on the pitch.

After this clash, Liverpool head back to England to play some more friendlies, so pre-season is far from over.

Last time out, the Merseysiders didn’t announce the match-day squad until just before kick-off and both Kolo Toure and Philippe Coutinho missed out with minor injuries. It isn’t worth taking risks on players at the moment, but Toure and Coutinho should both return for this match and will be looking to show what they are capable of.

Toure knows that with Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel and Andre Wisdom all competing for a place at centre back that he has to perform well to become first-choice in that position, so these pre-season matches are vital for the former Manchester City man.

We should see Steven Gerrard in action once more and he will be looking to dominate the midfield again. The England captain has looked sharp on this tour and although he isn’t likely to play a full 90 minutes, he can have a big impact on this game.

We might also see Luis Suarez, who is of course the subject of a lot of speculation. At the moment though, he is still a Liverpool player.

Liverpool are unsurprisingly the big favourites to come out on top in this encounter and you can back then at 1/4 with the bookies.

Rodgers will be after a good performance and a win to round-off what has been a successful pre-season tour.

As for Thailand, they can be backed at 12/1 to take this match, so are certainly the underdogs and have to perform extremely well to come out on top.

As they are on home soil though and are used to the conditions here in Bangkok, a few might see the hosts as decent value to take the spoils. They need to get a quick start and try to get Liverpool on the back foot as quickly as possible.

Thailand will be up for this match as they take on one of the biggest clubs in the world, so they can’t be written off just at the moment as every player that steps onto the pitch will be desperate to win.

We should be in for an interesting 90 minutes from Bangkok and all of the action gets underway from 11.45am later on today. Can Liverpool end their tour on a high? We shall see.
