Liverpool are keeping their options open considering a new left back should any attempt for Newcastle United’s Jose Enrique fail.
The latest name that has fallen through the rumour mill is that of the respected Czech international Michal Kadlec who currently plays for Bayer Levekusen in the German Bundesliga. The left back has been integral to the clubs splendid season so far in which they lie in second spot two points clear of their nearest rivals Hannover 96.
Should Leverkusen finish in second this season then an automatic Champions League spot will follow meaning Kadlec may decide to sample some top European football rather than settle for a Europa League campaign with Liverpool which does seem likely.
The 26 year old has more prowess going forward than defending but should Liverpool’s advance for Jose Enrique be rebuffed by Newcastle United then manager Kenny Dalglish could see the Czech international as a perfect second option meaning there will be much more transfer business for Reds fans over the summer.
