Sunderland v Liverpool odds : back the away win

Liverpool travel to Sunderland in the early kickoff as the Premier League returns for another weekend as Brendan Rogers looks to continue the Pool’s encouraging recent results.

Its now one defeat in their last eight games as the Reds look for some sort of consistency after a relatively poor start to the Premier League campaign.

The furore over Steven Gerrard’s departure to the LA Galaxy has galvanised the side it seems, and the skipper himself looks to improved considerably in recent games now that his Liverpool career is coming to an end.

Its certainly been an illustrious career at Anfield, and there’s little doubt that Gerrard and the Liverpool side itself will want to go out with a bang and accumulate as many points as possible.

That said, Sunderland should prove a stiff test at the Stadium of Light, but its apparent the Liverpool should have all the ammunition to take out the side from the North East.

A disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Hull in their last game will have done little to wet the appetite of the Geordie faithful, who have the perpetual one eye looking over their shoulder at a very real relegation scrap come the end of the season.

Liverpool have all the tools to wrap up an away win and at odds of 21/10 there’s a touch of value for punters.

This may be one to add to the weekend accumulator but its one in which Liverpool should come out on top.

steven-gerrard-444357Gerrard to score and Liverpool to win looks very appealing at 3/1.
