Liverpool skipper, Steven Gerrard, is happy to back in a Liverpool shirt after describing his six months on the sidelines as a ‘nightmare’.
The England international playing 16 minutes in Wednesday’s Carling Cup win over Brighton, marking his first appearance for the club since March.
The talismanic midfielder said: “It’s been a nightmare for me. I’m not the best when I’m out injured and watching games. It’s been tough and the last six months have been a rollercoaster.”
Manager Kenny Dalglish has stated his intentions to compete for the Carling Cup unlike many managers who don’t take the tournament seriously.
Gerrard noted: “We’re glad to be in the draw for the next round and we’re looking forward to seeing who we get in the draw on Saturday.”
