Lucas Leiva is adamant young summer signings will settle in

The Brazil international is confident the club’s summer signings will eventually settle in, as Brendan Rodgers’ new recruits continue to struggle at Anfield.

Liverpool spent in excess of £100 million on talent in the summer with the likes of Alberto Moreno, Javier Manquillo, Mario Balotelli, Emre Can, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana all making the switch to Anfield.

Lallana, Can and young Lazar Markovic are probably the three additions who have impressed most at Anfield, with Manquillo being another of which many fans wish to see more.

Lucas, who is born and bred in Brazil, admits he has been doing his best to help the summer signings settle in through use of his Portuguese and Spanish, and he believes the new recruits will need time to settle in and prove their worth.

“Most of the players who have come in are young players. They come to a club like Liverpool and when the team doesn’t start [the season] so well, sometimes it can be a hard moment for them.” Said Lucas.

Lucas maintains that the players who were signed this summer merited their moves to Merseyside and says that in a few months, they will fully comprehend what it actually means to be a Liverpool player.
