The Brazil international is confident that the younger players who have just arrived, will shine for Liverpool if they are given time to settle down
The Brazilian midfielder joined The Reds back in 2007 from Gremio at a very young age and endured a tough start to his career at Anfield.
At the age of 20, the midfielder was expected to compete against the likes of Javier Mascherano, Momo Sissoko and Xabi Alonso for a place in the starting XI and it naturally took him some time to get used to things.
Seven years on, the midfielder is working his way back to the starting XI and says that the young players like Emre Can, Alberto Moreno, Javier Markovic and Manquillo should be given time to settle at the club before anyone harbors big expectations from them.
Lucas says that it is not easy for a young player to come at a club like Liverpool and take to the starting XI like a duck to water and has asked people to be patient with the new players.
“They are here because they are good players. They have a lot of potential. They will get better and they will understand the way the club works and the fans and everything around it.”
