It should be a routine win for the home side as they are in fine form and their opponents sit in the bottom three after taking nothing from their last three encounters. However, we have seen a lot of surprises this season, so Lyon cannot take anything for granted.

On Saturday, the early kick-off sees Marseille host Montpellier in what should be an enthralling 90 minutes of action.

Marseille sit in third right now and can move above Paris Saint Germain with a victory, but have to be at their best as Montpellier come here on the back of an impressive win against Lorient, which moved them up to ninth in the table.

Five games get underway at 7PM on Saturday and the pick of them is the six-pointer at the bottom of Ligue 1 between Sochaux and Reims. These two both hover just above the drop zone and are only separated by goal difference, so it is a tough one to call.

The hosts, Sochaux, might be in better spirits though following their impressive win against Marseille last weekend.

Nancy have still won just once this season and are now seven points adrift from safety, so they have to pick something up this weekend when they make the journey to mid-table Toulouse. The home side have plenty to play for as well though as they are just five points away from a European spot.

Ajaccio are another team that look to be in a relegation battle right now and they entertain Valenciennes on Saturday in what should be an entertaining 90 minutes of action.

Valenciennes had looked to be Champions League contenders, but three defeats in their last four have seen them drop to tenth, whereas Ajaccio should have plenty of confidence after drawing with PSG last weekend.

Saint Etienne are without a win in six and head to Brest knowing they need the points to try and build some confidence in the side.

Finally on Saturday, Lorient, who sit in seventh position, are at home to a Troyes side that are in nineteenth. Although these two have different ambitions for the season, both want to take the spoils in this one.

Three big games then get underway on Sunday, with the first of them being between Bastia and Rennes and the latter are chasing all three points here to keep the pace with the top four in the league.

Then, Nice head to Lille in what is a battle between fifth and eighth in Ligue 1. Nice are just two points ahead of their opponents at the moment, so know what a big game this is.

Both are in good form right now as well, so this should be a cracker.

The final match to look at sees Bordeaux host PSG and it should be a scintillating 90 minutes to end the weekend. PSG would have been disappointed to have only drawn last time out and need a win here to keep within touching distance of the top of the table, whereas Bordeaux are in fourth and very difficult to beat this season.

We look like being in for a superb weekend.
