However with Roberto Di Matteo in charge the Spaniard has seen his playing time dramatically reduced as he struggles to dislodge Jon Obi Mikel from the holding midfield position. Its now been suggesting Romeu could be bound for a return to his homeland after Valencia reportedly had him scouted during an U-21 international against Croatia. a clause in Romeu’s contract stipulates that Barcelona can purchase him at any time and there have been rumours that they will work with their La Liga counterparts to bring him back to Spain. Rossi hints at Spurs switch – Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi has opened the door for a move to Tottenham Hotspur after his agent suggested he could be set for a move back to the Premier League. The Italy international previously spent two-years with Manchester United earlier in his career before moving to Spain in 2007 where he has forged a reputation as one of Europe’s most fearsome attackers. Spurs have held a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old, who is currently sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament problem until early 2013, and could make their move in January. They will have to beat off interest from Roma for Rossi’s signature with the Italian club also keen to acquire his signature. talkSPORT
