Aly Cisskho has opened the door for a move to the Premier League after revealing his to leave Lyon this season alerting Manchester United Sky Sports understands.

The 24-year-old has forged a reputation as a strong and dependable left back during his time at the Stade Gerland but now fancies testing himself in England top-flight.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is chasing a new left back and was hoping to strike a deal for Leighton Baines but baulked at Everton’s £15 million asking price and is now expected to move for the Cissokho..

Ferguson will face fierce competition for his signature with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly monitoring his situation along with Everton, Sunderland, Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus.

Lyon are expected to move on several high-profile players in the transfer market in an effort to generate some much needed funds and the France international remains one their most saleable assets.

And brother and agent Mamadou Cissokho revealed the former Porto star is open to challenging himself in a different should he be granted the opportunity.

“The preference would be to depart,” Cissokho told France Football

“Aly wishes to discover a new challenge. If he has to stay he will and will do his job, but if there is an opportunity he will seize it.

“The priority is England or Italy. However, there have been no concrete offers as yet, even though Lyon are keen to sell.”

Despite the Ligue 1 side being open to offers president Jean-Michel Aulas recently criticised Cissokho with his brother unhappy that his price tag is putting off potential buyers.

“Aulas made a show in the press and now he has to take his words into consideration and be sensible about a fee,” added Mamadou Cissokho.

“If he doesn’t want the player, he has to let him leave for the right price. €11million for a full-back is impossible nowadays.”
