Ricky Van Wolfswinkel’s agent has admitted it’s no surprise that his client has been linked with Manchester United are interested in securing his services.
The prolific Dutchman has caught the eye of Europe’s biggest sides after scoring six goals in seven games since joining Sporting Lisbon from Utrecht in the summer.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced the £11-million rated hit man could be a major hit at Old Trafford and repeat the success his fellow countryman Ruud Van Nistelrooy achieved at the club.
Despite being linked with switch to the Red Devils Van Wolfswinkel’s agent Louis Laros has instead reprensitves from the Premier League champions have yet to contact him.
Laros said: “Ricky is doing very well with Sporting and is very happy with the club, the city and the supporters.
“For him everything is perfect, for me this rumour is not it is not a surprise but I have not spoken with anybody.
“It is normal the kid is linked with other clubs because people watch the Portuguese Liga and as always club scouts check on the best men and today Ricky is one of the best forwards.”
Should the 22-year-old make swap Lisbon for Manchester in January or next summer he would follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani who both starred at the Estádio José Alvalade before moving to United.
