Its a busy Saturday with Bet365 releasing the latest odds on Man Utd v West Brom, Norwich v Man City, Fulham v Swansea, Arsenal Newcastle together with a free bets offer for festive punters.
There are eight big games taking place on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League and as we all know, this time of year is vital to a team’s ambitions for the season.
There is one lunchtime kick-off on Saturday and it sees Tottenham Hotspur make the journey to Sunderland. The Black Cats beat Manchester City on Boxing Day and Tottenham went to Aston Villa and won 4-0, so both are sure to be full of confidence.
Six 3PM games then take place and Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from their defeat during the week when they travel to Norwich City.
Its been an inconsistent period for Mancini’s men which saw them lose to a solitary goal at the Stadium of Light and another away trip to Norfolk is yet another potential banana skin for the Champions.
The Canaries have lost their last two in the Premiership, however do raise their game for the arrival of a top four side, having already beaten Manchester Utd and Arsenal already at Carrow Road. Those wishing to back another scalp for the home side can take the 5/1 currently available.
The Citizens now sit seven points behind Manchester United, so a win is imperative for the Champions, who can be backed at 4/6.
United themselves are in action as well as they host West Bromwich Albion. The Red Devils should be winning this one comfortably of course, but West Brom have found some form and are capable of springing a surprise at Old Trafford.
Once again it appears there are cracks in the United defence, with another three goals conceded at home, as the 10/1 available for Steve Clarke’s side to spring a surprise could reap dividends.
Elsewhere, Fulham take on Swansea City at Craven Cottage and the home side will be looking for their first win in four as Michael Laudrup’s side make do without top goalscorer Michu, who limped off against Reading with an ankle ligament problem. Goals look to be at a premium as Martin Jol’s sided can be backed at 5/4 to pick up the win, while the side from Wales are available at 5/2.
West Ham United did not play on Boxing Day, so they are sure to feel fresh going into their encounter at the Madjeski Stadium against Reading on Saturday. The Royals drew 0-0 with Swansea last time out, which made it eight games without a victory, so they have to take all three points here.
Stoke City are one of form teams in the top flight after nine games without a defeat and they will be confident of three points once more at home to Southampton.
There is then a real crunch match at the bottom of the league as Aston Villa are at home to Wigan Athletic. Wigan are in the bottom three, but sit just three points behind their opponents, who have conceded twelve goals in their last two games, so are shot of any sort of confidence.
The evening kick-off sees Arsenal and Newcastle United go head to head. The Gunners did not play on Boxing Day either and after three straight top flight wins, they are expecting all three points here.
Newcastle have had a poor run of results and the tough games just keep on coming. However, they have the ability to come out on top here.
