Manchester City flyer not keen on moving

Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips wishes to end his career at the clubManchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has told Eastland fans that he has no intention of going anywhere next season. The 29 year old has not featured as much as he will have liked for the club but admits he would like to retire as a City player.

“It feels like I am part of the furniture here, I would love to retire a City player and I have my fingers crossed it is something that can still happen.”

The Manchester City speedster also admitted his heartache when first moved to Chelsea six years ago.

“When I did leave in 2005, I broke down crying on the way to sign for Chelsea, but back then, we needed the money my sale brought in. The fans didn’t even turn their back on me then. They always give me a brilliant reception and I can’t explain how good that feels.”

With Mancini constantly delving into the transfer market it will not really be Wright-Phillips’ decision as to whether he stays on or not and although there would be many clubs interested in the England international, he remains committed and wants to add some silverware to the City trophy cabinet.

“I want to fulfil a lifelong dream and help win a trophy for our fans, I wouldn’t just want to beat United and then lose in the final – we need to get to the final and win it.”
