Manchester City interested in two free Serie A players

AC Milan's Pirlo will become a free agent next seasonReports across the country today have suggested that Manchester City are aiming to acquire the services of two Serie A players with the total transfer cost reaching absolutely nothing.

Both Andrea Pirlo and Philippe Mexes of AC Milan and Roma respectively are both on their last few months of current deals and will be free agents at the end of the season.

For Pirlo the situation is on where Milan are looking to cut their wage bill down and have ask the talented Italian to take a 50% cut, obviously Manchester City would be able to pay his wages and add some extras to tempt him to Eastlands.

Mexes on the other hand has been clear that he will be leaving Roma at the end of his current deal. Although there seems to be a lot of interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, there are reports suggesting he has already signed a pre-deal with AC Milan meaning City might have to spend more money on yet another defender.

Although no transfer cost between clubs is tenable, there is likely to be a high signing on fee for either of these Serie A players.
