Manchester City have tabled their latest offer to Real Madrid concerning the sale of Carlos Tevez after rejecting the proposed swap of Sami Khedira.
Not interested in the defensive midfielder, City have outlined that Angel Di Maria is the man on their wishlist and are reportedly open to a straight swap deal.
The club have made no secret of their desire to land the winger in past transfer windows and with such a potentially valuable player coming in the other direction, the Spanish giants could be tempted by the deal.
Di Maria has made a big impact for Real since moving from Benfica last summer but the La Liga side have depth, and a batch of replacements who could surely step in should the transfer go through.
Over the summer, the Citizens had been valuing their controversial striker at £40m with Internazionale close to completing a deal on more than one occasion. However, the sum is now varying greatly, with the club believed to be desperate to get rid of the Argentine and news of a lower circulating.
Di Maria made the switch to Spanish football for a fee of £25m last year and while he may not pose as much of a threat in front of goal, is certainly a man Roberto Mancini would be able to utilize to good effect.
