Manchester City ready to increase bid for Alexis Sanchez

Manciniis confident an increased bid for Sanchez will put an end to any more transfer tusslesManchester City are prepared to raise their current offer for Udinese star Alexis Sanchez after it was revealed by the clubs owner Gianpaolo Pozzo that offers received thus far had not met their valuation.

Bids are rumoured to have been made up to €35m for the Chilean and Sanchez has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Inter Milan and Barcelona although nothing has been accepted by the club with the bids currently on the table considered “too low”.

Whilst many feel Pozzo’s comments are merely an action to gain more interest in the 22 year old winger and up the price, there are also those that feel the player has the potential to move onto the same level as Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is aware of that fact and has asked the board to do what they can to bring Sanchez to Eastlands.

Although this could mean Manchester City paying more than the players realistic value, it is nothing new for a club that spent more money in the last three years than the whole of the Championship sides put together and paying an extra £5m more for someone so talented and so young is seen as a high value long term investment by the club.

Pozzo told an Italian press conference on Monday.

“Thirty five million euros (£31m) is not enough for Sanchez. We already turned down a similar offer. A higher offer is needed.”

With Manchester City considered the richest club on earth due to the overall wealth of their owners they are in the best position to be able to outbid any other sides including that of Barcelona and Inter Milan, however one fears that Sanchez himself may not be too keen to join the City revolution just yet and there were suggestions last week that he may prefer to remain in Italy for the time being.
