Manchester City are ready to invest heavily in the future of the football club and are preparing heavily funded offers for Arsenal’s chief scout Steve Rowley and former director of football at Barcelona Txiki Begiristain, in a move that could them hold two of the best talent spotters on the planet.
Rowley has perhaps been the unsung hero of Arsenal FC over the years, picking up on the likes of Fabregas, van Persie and Gael Clichy as youngsters and with the help of Wenger turning them into top class players. Begiristain has very much done the same at Barcelona before leaving last year, helping footballing talent such as Iniesta and Xavi break through the ranks at the Nou Camp.
Chelsea are prepared to offer Rowley a massive pay increase to switch ends of London but Manchester City are ready to smash that with offers for both scouting experts and although the exact job descriptions are sketchy at this time, it is believed that both will be in control of their own sections across the world with their main task to be finding the best young talent for Manchester City at an early age.
The City chiefs realise that the overall wealth of the club cannot be spent on new players when the Financial Fair Play Ruling comes into action next year and will after this summer be required to cut spending on established stars and instead focus all attentions on young up and coming potential.
It is also believed that with Rowley and Begiristain on board, they will be one step ahead of other clubs. Arsenal will want to do all they can to keep hold of Rowley whilst Begiristain has not been fully involved in football for almost a year.
