Speculation in Spain has suggested that Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss is close to agreeing a move to Primera Liga side Espanyol.
Weiss has made no secret of his desire to leave Eastlands following a lack of opportunities in the starting line-up and has attracted a lot of interest from a number of Spanish sides and also Premier League side Wigan.
The 21-year-old confirmed earlier this week that he would not be moving to Ukraine side Dynamo Kiev, despite reports previously suggesting that a deal was close.
The Slovakian international has spent two loan spells at Rangers and Bolton since he joined City in 2006, but a Spanish newspaper has reported that he is expected to have a medical at Espanyol on Monday.
The Spanish side have been linked with many other Premier League players, including stars such as: Giovanni dos Santos and Roman Pavlyuchenko (both of Tottenham) and Liverpool’s Christian Poulsen.
