Manchester City striker issues Tottenham a transfer ultimatum

Manchester City’s misfit striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, has told Tottenham that they need to strengthen their squad if he is to complete a loan move to White Hart Lane.

The first name Adebayor wants to see under Harry Redknapp this season is former teammate, Lassana Diarra.

Spurs have been associated with a move for the French international for some weeks now, in a deal thought to be in the region of £14m.

The wages of the Togolese forward were also thought to be a stumbling block in the deal to make him a Spurs player, however it’s understood that Manchester City are now prepared to pay more than half of his £170,000-a-week earnings.

The North London club succumbed to a 3-0 defeat in their opening league fixture against Manchester United on Monday night.
