Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is reportedly back on the trail of Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago, according to the Sun. Mancini was reportedly after Gago in January however apparently failed in a £20million bid to bring him to Eastlands.
The Argentine midfielder is rumoured to be ready to leave Madrid following a lack of playing opportunities due to their growing amount of midfield players they have recruited which has resulted in the player playing only 15 games in 2 seasons. Mancini is keen to bring the player to Manchester City as he is eager to strengthen his midfield with all-action players.
Liverpool have also been linked with the 33 capped Argentina international as Kenny Dalglish has also revealed that his summer spending is not yet finished. Madrid are prepared to allow Gago to leave the Bernabeu for around £8.5 million but will reject all bids for the player leave on loan, following Italian side Roma’s loan offer for him.
