Manchester City winger adamant decision was correct

Manchester City star Adam Johnson has insisted that he did not dive to win a penalty in their 3-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday.

The England international won the spot-kick for his team-mates however it was questioned if there was contact in the challenge from Chris Baird.

It was suggested that Johnson went down far too easy despite very little contact between the players, however he insists there was a touch from the Fulham defender.

“I felt the contact,” explained Johnson. “Sometimes in normal time, when you are in the moment, you anticipate contact.

“There is a fine line between diving and anticipating contact but I felt it and went down. These things happen.”

Roberto Mancini gave Johnson a rare start and he believes that the former Middlesbrough player gave a good performance.
“Adam did well,” said Mancini. “He deserved to have this chance and I hope he can continue because now we have three important months and we need him.”
