Manchester United and Liverpool FC face competition for Brazilian playmaker
The agent of Brazilian and current Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Douglas Costa has confirmed that Manchester City are in the mix to try and sign the Manchester United and Liverpool target.
The midfielder has made some very impressive performances for the Ukrainian side this season scoring 8 goals in the process.
However with Manchester City also now interested the result is certain to mean a hike in price for the 20 year old.
Costa’s agent Cesar Bottega explained.
“I have spoken a few times with Manchester City. They have shown interest in the player and are now considering whether to enter into a negotiation or not. I am planning a trip to Europe in a fortnight, but if something were to change I am ready to leave earlier.”
He also added that Italian Serie A side Napoli had also earmarked the midfielder.
“Napoli have followed the player’s performance in the Champions League, then I don’t know if there were concrete contacts, I have not been contacted.”
Costa is currently valued around £8m although this is likely to increase with so many Champions League clubs after his signature this summer.
