Manchester United confident hitman is back at his best

Patrice Evra has voiced his confidence in teammate Wayne Rooney, claiming the striker has overcome difficulties of last season and is now reaching new heights.

The forward handed in a transfer request around this time last year and it appeared that he could be on his way out of the club.

However, nothing could be further from the truth these days as Rooney netted his second successive hat-trick against Bolton Wanderers over the weekend.

The French international said: “Last season he had some problems but now Wayne is back. Now he wants to show what a top player he is.”

As the Red Devils now sit above rivals Manchester City at the top of the PremierLeague table, spirits are high at Old Trafford, with Evra adding: “He just has to keep doing what he is doing. I will be very happy if he keeps scoring and we win the league.”
