David de Gea is in the form of his life at Manchester United at the moment. Despite a rather forgettable introduction to life in the English Premier League, the Spanish keeper has gone on to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world and his performances have helped the team enter into the big things that Premier League can promise to a select few.
However, his performances have also attracted a lot of interest from Real Madrid who eye the former Ateltico Madrid man as the perfect replacement for Iker Casillas with the legendary shot stopper entering the twilight years of his playing career.
Los Blancos have reportedly made De Gea their top target for the summer transfer window and are currently monitoring his contractual situation at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, fans should take comfort from the fact that De Gea’s representatives and Manchester United have had an amicable introduction to contract talks which means that the possibility of Tim Krul coming over to Manchester United to replace the current number 1 could be slim to none.
