The Red Devils are taking a look at the Stevenage Borough centre back who impressed the club’s scouts during an Under 18s game a few days back
Louis van Gaal may be struggling to get his hands on a centre back who could help the team with its leaky defense but the Dutchman still knows the value of putting talent inside the club’s academy. And after being highly recommended by scouts, the former Barcelona manager has brought in 18 year old Ryan Johnson to the Carrington Training Complex after his performances for Stevenage wooed away everyone.
The teenager started out with West Bromwich Albion and made his debut for Stevenage at the age of 17 years and 215 days, thus becoming the club’s youngest ever debutant.
The Manchester United training staff has reported that Johnson will be spending a week with other youngster and if his performances are impressive, he will be given a professional contract which will go some way in helping him realize his dream of becoming a professional player for one of the greatest clubs in the history of English football.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have pulled a plug on their pursuit of Juan Cuadrado which means that Chelsea are now clear favorites to sign the Colombian from Fiorentina.
