Manchester United veteran insists that should Manchester United come up against Barcelona again this season, viewers won’t see a repeat of last the 2009 and 2011 finales.
Barcelona defeated the Red Devils in both of the aforementioned tournaments, but Giggs is confident that the new and improved United can reclaim the Champions League title.
Manchester United get their 2011-12 Champions League campaign underway tongith when they meet past Champions League winners, Benfica, in Lisbon.
Speaking to MUTV, the midfielder stated: “It’s difficult, as they’re such a good team, but it’s not impossible. Teams have beaten them, and we beat them three years ago when they were not too different back then.”
He added: “We’ve got to learn from our mistakes and get better. I’m sure we can, with the players we have here and the hunger to win things.”
