Manchester United are attempting to negotiate a deal with Borussia Dortmund over the possibility of a deal worth £1.5m that would give them first option on 19-year-old Mario Gotze. The youngster looks set to stay at Dortmund this summer, however should the deal go through United would be in pole position to sign the player next summer.
Mario Gotze plays as an attacking midfielder and Ferguson looks set to be interested in the German player as a move for Wesley Sneijder has become to expensive due to wage demands. Despite only being 19 years-old, Gotze has already made 7 appearances for the Germany first team and became Germany’s youngest international since Uwe Seeler. He has already been named a potential superstar as he contains great pace and technical skill whilst also being a creative player.
It has already been revealed that a high number of Europe’s elite clubs are linked with the midfielder. Inter Milan are reportedly keen on Gotze following Samuel Eto’o’s departure, however the player is an apparent Manchester United fan and would favour a move to Old Trafford next season.
On the other hand, English midfielder Tom Cleverly has burst on to the scene with impressive displays, which may force the Red Devils’ to reconsider the move. It is also highly unlikely the deal would go through this summer following arrivals from Ashley Young, Phil Jones and David De Gea.
