Manchester United look set to unveil a new youngster in January 2012 after 15 year old Andreas Pereira confirmed via twitter that he has signed for the Old Trafford side.
At just fifteen years old, the attack minded midfielder cannot sign a professional contract at his current club PSV Eindhoven which has seen Manchester United top a list of numerous big clubs to his signature. Pereira, who’s father was also a professional footballer for Royal Antwerp, has been quoted as the best player in the World for his age.
The attacking midfielder is also known for his neat passing skills and tracking back when needed. Although it would seem unlikely that Andreas Pereira would make a debut for Manchester United this season there is always the chance of the youngster appearing in a Carling Cup tie, however at his current age, it would seem much more likely that he will be placed in the reserves or shipped out on loan to gain experience first.
Manchester United fans feeling Pereira will make an immediate impact are sure to be disappointed however at just fifteen years of age, his talent and obvious potential does bode well for the future.
The young midfielder, confirmed the move via a twitter account and to local Dutch newspaper Voetbal Primeur stating:
“I knew that PSV had given me my chance, but Manchester United is obviously a great club, other British clubs were interested. I thought about it, but Manchester United is a dream club for me. I have been a few times to Manchester United to have a look.”
Pereira added that he had also already had the honour of meeting Sir Alex Ferguson.
“I got a tour and spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson. Being a 15-year-old and being able to talk with him is great!”
Whilst Andres Pereira’s twitter account read:
“To everyone I’m going to MAN U in January.”
