South Korean star, Park Ji-Sung, has been offered a two-year contract extension, in an effort to tie the midfielder down to Old Trafford for the remainder of his playing career.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson told BBC Sport: “He has been offered a new contract, yes. His career at United has been nothing but excellent.”
Park joined the Manchester outfit from PSV Eindhoven in 2005 and his current deal runs out in 2012.
Speaking on how sure he was of the extension being accepted, Ferguson added: “I’m sure he’ll accept the new offer, and tie himself to the club for the next two years.”
The 30 year-old retired from international duty at the start of 2011 and has won four premier league titles in his six years at the club.
Park is currently a part of the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of the USA and is set to play against Chicago Fire on Saturday.
