Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverly may be facing a while on the sidelines after sustaining a suspected broken foot during United’s 5-0 thrashing of Bolton yesterday.
The promising youngster, who recently broke into the senior England squad, suffered the injury after a poor challenge by Bolton striker Kevin Davies.
“Tom may have a broken bone in his foot,” said a furious Fergie after the match. “It’s a bad one and it was a bad tackle.”
The manager continued:
“It is unfortunate but we expected it”.
Cleverly could face up to three months out if the United manager’s worse fears are confirmed.
