Keeping in view Borussia Dortmund’s ever growing problems, Manchester United are set to make a late night assault to sign the German international
According to German newspaper Bild, Manchester United are going to take full advantage of the recent economic troubles affecting the Euro to lodge an offer equal to 37.3 million pounds which they feel would be enough to get their hands on the BVB captain who despite not saying much about his future, has not ruled out the possibility of leaving Signal Iduna Park.
And, people believe that despite insisting that he will not jump ship just halfway through the season, Hummels might consider leaving the club this January and seek a fresh start.
This season, the centre back’s form has not been the one that saw him guide Germany to FIFA World Cup glory but Louis van Gaal is a huge fan and knows that his presence in the United squad can change the team’s defensive problems that has seen them drop quite a lot of points.
And although he is looking at other options, Van Gaal has made Hummels his priority and will keep trying to bring the player to Old Trafford as soon as he can and if all else fails, will make sure that he is in England in the summer.
