The goalkeeper will now have his sights set on the Red Devils’ Premier League clash against Liverpool after the international break this weekend, but is currently a doubt for the match.

The Keeper was in line for international duty for native Denmark during the break, but will now miss the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Portugal and Cyprus.

Manchester United travel to Anfield on the 15th October, giving the January signing nine days to get fit.

Speaking after his clean sheet on Saturday, Lindegaard noted: “I got a stamp on my ankle at the start of the match on Saturday and should have come off. I chose to carry on and paid the price. And although I have to sit on my couch with my leg up now, it was incredibly important for me to play.”

David de Gea is Lindegaard’s toughest competition for a starting spot in the United setup, but the Dane has voiced his confidence at making the place his own after the Spaniard had a debatable start to the season.

De Gea, 20, now looks set to start against Liverpool ext weekend.
