Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists Wayne Rooney is thriving under his new leadership role amongst the youngsters in the forward positions.
Ferguson claims he has given the responsibility to take a more senior role as striker, something the 69 year old manager believes is important.
“He’s thriving in his role of leader of the front players. Welbeck’s young, Hernandez is young, Ashley Young has just joined and Wayne’s thriving in the responsibility and I think that’s important.”
On Ashley Young’s brace and development the Manchester United manager added:
“Marvellous goals, fantastic. He’s settling in very well, good understanding of the game, great energy, beautiful balance,he has all the assets to be a really top player.”
