Sir Alex Ferguson is keeping a close eye on Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli as he continues to explore options to freshen up the Manchester United midfield. The France-born Algerian international has established himself as one of La Liga’s hottest talents this season after nailing down a place in the starting eleven at the Mestalla. Feghouli has been with the Spanish giants since arriving from Grenoble in 2010 and has caught Ferguson’s attention with a string of impressive displays. The Red Devils boss is preparing to step up his drive to replace veteran duo Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs’ and sees the talented 22-year-old as a readymade successor once the former finally hangs up his boots. Everton chasing injury-prone midfielder – Everton are mulling over a move for free-agent Owen Hargreaves after his move to French club Lille collapsed after they pulled out of the deal. Toffees boss David Moyes has been looking to sign a midfielder to cover the absence of Darron Gibson after he was ruled out for five weeks with a thigh strain and was thought to be monitoring former Aston Villa and West Ham star Thomas Hitzelsperger. Its now emerged that Hargreaves, who is without a club since leaving Manchester City at the end of last season, is the new name on his radar and is considering offering the ex-England a trial at Goodison Park with a view to a permanent move. QPR to pursue January deal for Man City forward – Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes is poised to make a January move for Manchester City striker John Guidetti to replace the injured Andy Johnson. Former England forward Johnson damaged his cruciate knee ligaments in the game against Chelsea on Saturday and was ruled out for 10 months. Hughes has now cast his eye over potential replacements and has settled on Guidetti who 20 times in 23 games on loan to Dutch club Feyenoord last season. Express
Bolton interested in out of favour Villa defender – Aston Villa defender Steven Warnock is a target for Bolton Wanderers as they look to give their ailing promotion hopes a boost. The Trotters have struggled to adapt to life in England’s second tier after being relegated from the Premier League in May.
