Footybunker.com sources have confirmed that Manchester United are likely to approach Inter Milan regarding a move for Wesley Sniejder next week.
Sneijder who will turn 27 in June only signed a five year extension with Inter Milan last year to tie him to the San Siro until 2015 however it is believed the Holland international will be offered the chance to join Sir Alex Ferguson’s men in a transfer package worth £23m.
Speculation has been high regarding a move for Sneijder over the last two or three years and with Ferguson being a strong admirer of the attack minded midfielder we are led to believe a move shall be made by the Old Trafford club shortly although up to this point, Sneijder’s agent Soren Lerby, has not received any contact from the Old Trafford club.
Talking in May Lerby said.
“Wesley is often being linked with several European clubs. However, I have not talked to any club about a possible transfer and neither have I held contract talks with anyone.”
Whilst Manchester United’s approach may be rebuffed by Inter Milan it certainly looks as though Manchester United are now prepared to invest heavily this summer on top stars after a rather quiet transfer window in 2010.
