Manchester United young defender Chris Smalling has suggested that confidence at the club is high and that he would like to look back in three weeks with two winners medals to be proud of.
Smalling put in a good performance against Schalke 04 where he had to contend with both Spanish legend Raul and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar towards the end of the fixture.
The United defender said on the official ManUtd.com website.
“It’s never-ending at the moment. Hopefully when I come to sit down in another three weeks or so we’ll have done the double. That would be a massive season for myself and it will show this season has been a real one to savour.”
The 21 year old added.
“It’s going to be a massive game on Sunday. They’ve caught us up but with three games left, it’s definitely in our hands. All season we’ve been really good at home and hopefully that will carry on. We’ll all really confident.”
Should Manchester United achieve victory against current title holders Chelsea on Sunday then only one more point will be required from their remaining two games against Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool.
